Vidhan Soudha: The Legislative and Secretariat House of Karnataka, Vidhan Soudha presents a fine example of neo-Dravidian architectural style. This beautiful building makes everyone spellbound when it is illuminated on every Sunday evening.

Cubbon Park: Situated in the center of the Bangalore city, Cubbon Park is one of the major attractions in Bangalore. The park covers an area of about 300 acres and enjoys an absolutely beautiful layout. Within its premises are located the central library, the aquarium, the museum, an amusement park, VITM and KSLTA tennis court, a doll museum and a toy train.

Bangalore Palace: Built by Wodeyars, the rulers of the erstwhile Mysore Kingdom, the Bangalore Palace is inspired by the Windsor Palace and based on the Tudor style. Spread over an area of about 800 acres, the Bangalore Palace is famous for its elegantly carved wooden interiors.

Tipu's Palace & Fort: Built by Haider Ali and his son Tipu Sultan in 1789, the Tipu Palace is famous for its battlements and turrets, Gothic windows and foiled windows resembling the Daria Daulat Palace of Srirangapatnam. The lavishly ornamented Palace is made of wood and known for its intricately sculpted arches, carving and paintings.

Lal Bagh Botanical Gardens: The 240 acres Lal Bagh Garden is situated on the Lal Bagh Fort Road in Bangalore. The Glass House, inspired by the London Crystal Palace, is the main attraction of the park. It is built in 1881 and displays major variety of flowers in the week before the Republic day and the Independence Day. The Rose Garden is another attraction at Lal Bagh having 150 different kinds of roses.

Other major attractions of Bangalore City are Venkatappa Art Gallery, Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum, The Government Museum, Shiva Statue, The International Society for Krishna Consciousness or ISKCON Temple, Ulsoor Lake, Bull Temple, Jawahar Lal Nehru Planetarium, Aquarium to name a few.

Lal Bagh Botanical Gardens

Mysore Palace: Designed by a famous English architect, the Saracenic style Mysore Palace was built in place of an existing palace that was burnt down in 1897. The enchanting Mysore Palace represents a fine blend of Hindu and Muslim architectural styles. The entire palace is tastefully designed and built with massive gray granite stones, colourful gemstones, paintings etc. The palace also houses a museum with a rich collection of musical instruments, children's toys, many paintings, costumes and weapons belonging to the Maharaja's family. When illuminated with 97,000 bulbs, the Mysore Palace appears like shimmering against an inky black night and this enduring sight of the palace makes every one spellbound.

Chamundeshwari Temple: Located atop the 1,100 ft high Chamundi Hills, the temple is dedicated to the Goddess Chamundeshwari, the royal family's patron deity. Near the temple is the gigantic statue of Mahishasura, the demon that had been killed by the Goddess Durga. Midway up along the stone steps, is the 300 year old 4.8 m monolithic statue of Nandi Bull, the mount of Lord Shiva.

Brindavan Gardens: Brindavan Gardens in Mysore is the finest and most popular landscaped terrace gardens of India. Located at a distance of about 11 km from Mysore city, the Brindavan Gardens is world famous for its rows-of colourful musical fountains. Using advanced lighting techniques, the fountains are made to jump and dance to the tune of music. There is also a boating pond, which adds to its attractions and charm.

Lalitha Mahal Palace: Built in the 1930s, the beautiful Lalitha Mahal was once used as the guesthouse of Wodeyars. The attraction of the palace is a staircase of Italian marble branching off from a landing to reach the first floor hall.

Other major attractions in and around Mysore include St. Philomena's Church, Shri Jayachamarajendra Art Gallery, Krishna Raja Sagar Dam, Srirangapatnam, Cauvery Fishing Camp and Bandipur National Park.
