Thimphu: The capital of the tiny Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan, Thimphu is perhaps the smallest capital city in the world, situated on a hillside on the bank of the sylvan river. Untouched by the clutches of modernity, Thimphu is regarded as the storehouse of Bhutanese traditional art, architecture, culture, and tradition. The Trashi Chhoe Dzong (the fortress of Glorious Religion) and the Memorial Chorten are two of the ancient attraction worth a visit in Thimphu. Among the modern attractions, the School of Arts and Crafts, the Changlimithang Stadium, the New National Library, the Royal Bhutan Golf Course, the Weekend Market, and the National Institute of Traditional Medicine are the must visit sites on your Thimphu tour. The most attractive and famous tourists attractions in Paro are Rinpung Dzong or Paro Dzong- a beautiful fortress built by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in1646, Ta Dzong - an ancient watchtower, Taktsang Monastery (Tiger's Nest) and the National Museum. Drugyel Dzong (victorious fortress) situated at18 km from Paro and Kyichu Iyakhang (one of the holiest temples of Bhutan, 8 km from Paro) are other major attractions near Paro. Paro is also one of the smallest towns on earth with an international airport.

Bumthang: The spiritual heartland of Bhutan, Bumthang is famous for its ancient and precious Buddhist sites, Dzongs, temples and palaces. The major attractions at Bumthang include the Wangdichholing Palace, the temple of Jambey Lhakang, the sacred cave of Kurjey Lhakang and Jakar, the largest Bhutanese Dzong.


Tashigang: Located in the far east of Bhutan, Tashigang is the largest district of Bhutan. Once the centre of a busy trade with Tibet, Tashigang is the junction of the east west highway with road connection to the Indian state of Assam.


Tongsa: Located in the central part of Bhutan, Tongsa is the Royal Family's ancestral home. Known for its defensive strengths, the city is home to many beautiful temples and monasteries. Tongsa is regarded as one of the most beautiful of all Bhutanese towns.


Phobjika: Located in an enchantingly beautiful glacial valley, Phobjika is famous for housing the most important wildlife reserves in Bhutan, the 'Black Mountain National Park'. The Park is home to the rare and endangered Black-necked Cranes who roost here in the winters. Tourists can view their roosting places with permission from relevant authorities. Other most notable wildlife in the Black Mountain National Park includes Barking Deer, Wild Boars, Leopards, Himalayan Black Bears and Red Foxes.


Punakha: The capital of Bhutan until 1955, Punakha is situated low in the picturesque Dorchula Valley. Dorchula Pass at 10,500 ft offers the most spectacular and breathtaking view of the majestic Himalayan ranges. Punakha is home to some of the most sacred temples of Bhutan including the Marchen Temple where the embalmed body of Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal lies in the state.


Other important destinations worth visiting in Bhutan include Sengor and Namning famous for huge cascading waterfalls, Wangdiphodrang famous for its fine bamboo work and its stone carving, and Gangtey famous for an old monastery of Gangtey Gompa dating back to the 17th century.

Visa: For processing visa we need to have the full passport details of the clients (name, nationality, date of birth, passport #, issued date, expiry date, occupation) 15-20 days prior to the travel date.


Tour that falls during the following festivals will be charged with festival surcharge of US$ 25 per person per night.

Thimphu Tsechu, Thimphu (surcharge will be levied from 28 Sept-08 Oct, 2006)
Wangdi Tsechu, Wangdiphodrang (surcharge will be levied from 26 Sept-06 Oct, 2006)
Jambaylhakhang festival, Bumthang (surcharge will be levied from 01-13 Nov, 2006)

Cancellation Policy:
Once visa is processed & tour programs booked & subsequently cancelled shall be subject to the following charges:


  1. within 30 days of start of program - free

  2. within 21 days - 10 % of the rate

  3. within 14 days - 15 % of the rate

  4. within 7 days - 30 % of the rate

  5. less than 7 days or cancellation - 50 % of the rate without notice

  6. 24 hours prior to the trip - 100 % of the rate


Druk-Air: Tickets have to be issued at the time of booking itself. 1 passenger permitted to cancel with full refund for a group size of 10 or above up to 19, or for every 10 passengers, 1 passenger permitted to cancel with full refund.
