Fully air-conditioned, the train comprises of 14 deluxe saloons, equipped with world-class amenities to enhance the pleasure of traveling. Each saloon is a combination of 4 twin-bedded chambers with channel music, intercom, and attached toilets, running hot & cold water, shower and wall-to-wall carpeting. The lounge car recaptures the royal style-pomp& pageantry, the quality of the era gone by. The two dining cars, the Maharaja and the Maharani have a traditional Rajasthani ambience, serving mouthwatering-Continental, Indian and Rajasthani cuisine delicacies. The 14 coaches of this luxury train are named after the erstwhile princely states of Rajasthan: Alwar-Bharatpur-Bikaner-Bundi-Dholpur-Dungarpur-Jaipur-Kota-Sirohi and Udaipur. What's more, each saloon has personal attendants or Khidmatgars who are at your service whenever you need anything.
The Palace on Wheels itinerary covers a week in wonderland. The itineraries of the Palace on Wheels are planned in such a way that during the night you travel and daytime you enjoy visiting the most fascinating tourist destinations of India. The itinerary includes 7 Nights / 8 Days of a royal journey, taking you to the most fascinating cities, beautiful historic monuments including the world-famous Taj Mahal, amazing wildlife sanctuaries, and many other fabulous destinations of India. The Palace on Wheels train starts its fascinating journey on every Wednesday (between September to April) from Delhi Cantonment Railway Station.
The destinations covered by Palace on Wheels include Delhi, Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Sawai Madhopur (Ranthambore National Park), Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Bharatpur and finally Agra.
